  1. He felt as if he would fall into a bucket of gold when he came to america, this shows how many people strived for the "American dream". At this point he doesn't hav much money, he is seaching for work in the jewish press. The editor had a very big ego and would be very judgmental. They planned a big celebration to honor his life. His life in America was very difficult and he recognized that it was a salvation for the jews, it was a god given land. He was frighnted the culture itself would diminish. fidler on the room has a very international following beacise it captures the the shift of change and even though this might not be what they wanted, they new it was what they had to do.
